Terms of Service

The rules and responsibilities that keep every DropTote rental smooth, fair, and easy to understand.

Effective date: June 25, 2026 · Version 2026-06-25

By booking, accepting delivery, or using DropTote services, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our services. Questions? Call or text 904-654-8525.

Customer Responsibilities

Once DropTote delivers the totes and dollies to your location, you have care, custody, and control of the equipment for the duration of the rental period. You are responsible for using the totes in a reasonable manner and for keeping them safe from loss, damage, or theft while they are in your possession.

  • All totes and dollies must be returned in the same general condition they were received in, allowing for normal wear and tear from proper use.
  • You are responsible for any loss, damage, or theft that occurs while the equipment is in your care, including damage caused by improper packing, overloading, or exposure to hazardous conditions.
  • Totes should be used only for their intended purpose: moving and storing household or office items. Do not use them for hazardous materials, sharp objects without protection, or extremely heavy items that exceed the tote's weight rating.

Delivery and Pickup

DropTote provides delivery and pickup as part of your rental. You must be available at the scheduled delivery and pickup address, or make prior arrangements that give our team clear access to the property.

  • Please ensure the delivery location is accessible and that a safe, convenient drop-off spot is identified before we arrive.
  • For pickup, leave the empty totes and dollies in the agreed-upon location that is accessible from the outside. If you plan to be unavailable, provide written instructions at the time of booking or by contacting us in advance.
  • If no one is available and we are unable to deliver or pick up the totes due to lack of access, a redelivery or failed-pickup fee may apply. We will contact you to reschedule before charging any additional fee.

Stairs and Access

If our crew must carry totes or dollies up or down stairs to complete delivery or pickup, an additional stairs access fee applies. This is a one-time fee that covers both the delivery and the pickup at the same address.

  • $25 for one flight of stairs.
  • $40 for two or more flights of stairs.
  • You may avoid the stairs fee entirely by meeting our team at ground level — for example, in a garage, driveway, carport, or first-floor entryway — so we can roll the equipment on a dolly without using stairs.

The stairs fee is based on the access required at the time of delivery and pickup, not on the number of totes delivered.

Rental Period and Extensions

The standard rental period is one week from the confirmed delivery date. The rental period ends on the scheduled pickup date unless an extension has been approved before that date.

  • Extensions are charged at the additional weekly rate listed for your selected bundle. Partial-week extensions are generally billed as a full week, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Extension requests must be submitted before the original scheduled pickup date. Last-minute extensions may not be possible if the equipment is already reserved for another customer.
  • Approved extensions will be confirmed by text or email, and payment will be charged to the payment method on file.

Late Returns and No Contact Policy

If the totes are not returned by the scheduled pickup date and we are unable to reach you, the following timeline applies:

  • After 7 days past due: Late fees may apply based on the weekly extension rate for your bundle. We will continue to attempt contact during this period.
  • After 30 days with no contact or return: You agree that DropTote may treat all outstanding totes and dollies as purchased by you, and you will be charged the full retail replacement value of the unreturned equipment.

We understand that moving schedules change. If you need more time, contact us before the scheduled pickup and we will work with you to avoid late fees.

Lost, Damaged, or Stolen Totes

You are financially responsible for any totes or dollies that are lost, damaged, or stolen while in your possession. Replacement costs will be charged to the payment method on file.

  • "Lost" includes totes that are not returned by the 30-day deadline after no contact.
  • "Damaged" includes cracks, broken lids, burn marks, chemical stains, or any condition that makes a tote unusable for future rentals, beyond normal wear and tear.
  • Replacement costs will be calculated at the full retail replacement value of each item and will be charged after DropTote has inspected and documented the damage or loss.

Payment and Security

A valid payment method is required at the time of booking. By providing your payment information, you authorize DropTote to charge that payment method for the rental, approved extensions, and any applicable fees or replacement costs.

  • Charges may include the base rental rate, stairs fees, extension fees, late fees, redelivery fees, and replacement costs for lost or damaged equipment.
  • DropTote uses third-party payment processors that meet industry security standards. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.
  • If a payment fails, we may contact you to update your payment method. If payment is not resolved, we may suspend services or pick up the equipment early.

Cancellation Policy

We know plans can change. Our cancellation policy is designed to be fair to you while protecting our scheduling and vehicle capacity.

  • Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the scheduled delivery window may be eligible for a full refund of the base rental amount.
  • Cancellations within 48 hours of the scheduled delivery window may be subject to a fee, because we reserve that time and equipment for your order.
  • To cancel or reschedule, contact us by phone or text as soon as possible. Refunds, if applicable, will be processed to the original payment method within 5–10 business days.

Limitation of Liability

DropTote provides durable, reusable moving bins to help you pack and transport your belongings. However, we are not responsible for damage to the items you place inside the totes or for any property damage that occurs while you are using the equipment.

  • You assume full responsibility for how items are packed, loaded, and transported.
  • DropTote is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, including lost profits, lost time, or emotional distress, arising from the use of our services or equipment.
  • In any event, DropTote's total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the rental in question.

Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of DropTote services shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Duval County, Florida.

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full effect. These terms represent the entire agreement between you and DropTote regarding the rental of our equipment.
